Who we are
My Diwali Book and My Hanukkah Book are run by Marigold Books, a small business in Needham, Massachusetts. Questions: hello@myhanukkahbook.com or hello@mydiwalibook.com.
What we collect
The details you enter to build your book: your child's first name, the names and looks you choose for your child and family, an optional sibling and pet, and, if you choose it, a grandparent or parent from another tradition. Plus your email address and, for printed books, your shipping address.
What we never collect
Photos. We never ask for one and never store one.
How we use it
Only to make, check, print and deliver your book, and to send you order updates. We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who helps us make your book
Stripe handles payments; we never see your card number. Our printers, RPI Print and Lulu, receive the book files and your shipping address for printed books. AI services help draw and check the pictures; they never receive your email or address. Lovable Cloud runs our website and database, and our email provider sends order emails; they use your information only to provide those services to us.
Visits and ads
We count anonymous visits to see which steps people reach, using a random visit number that's deleted when you close the tab. No cookies, no outside trackers, and nothing you type. We skip it entirely if your browser asks not to be tracked. If you came from one of our ads, we note the ad's name on your account when you sign in, so we know which ads work.
Sharing a preview
A shared preview link shows only the first pages of the book, never your email or order details. You can turn sharing off anytime.
Children
Books are bought by parents and other adults. Children don't use the site themselves. A grown up enters the child's first name and chosen looks, and we use them only to make the book.
How long we keep it
We keep your book files and order details for 2 years after your order, so we can resend your digital book or reprint and fix your printed one. After that we delete them. If you ask us to keep them longer, or we need them to finish fixing an order, we hold on to them until that's done. Email us anytime and we'll delete them sooner, except records we must keep for tax and payment purposes.
