What is My Diwali Book?
A personalized, illustrated Diwali storybook starring your child, with up to two grown ups, a sibling and your pet.
What can I personalize?
Your child's first name and look, and the grown up who lights the candles with them: Bubbe, Zayde, Savta, Saba, Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, Papa, Mom, Dad, Ima, or Abba. You can also add a sibling or a pet, and a head covering for anyone in the family.
Do I need to upload photos?
No. You pick your child's look with our character builder. No photos stored, ever.
Is this book made with AI?
Partly, and I'd rather say so plainly. We write the stories ourselves, with help from families who celebrate Hanukkah. The pictures are drawn with the help of AI tools and we check every page before anything prints, with a person looking at anything that seems off. Your child's name and the people you choose are placed into the story we wrote; nothing about your family is made up.
We celebrate two traditions. Is there a version for us?
Yes. You can bring in the other side of the family: Indian, Chinese, Christian or Mexican American. Either a grandparent visits with a dish from their table, or a parent shares their own tradition at home. Their greeting joins the words page. The menorah and the Hanukkah story stay just as they are.
Can I see the book before I buy?
Yes. The free preview shows the cover and the first three illustrated spreads, plus the whole story text.
What formats are available?
A digital PDF, delivered as soon as it's ready, or an 8.5 x 8.5 inch hardcover. Every printed book also includes the digital PDF.
How much does it cost?
The hardcover is $49.99 with free Ground shipping, and it includes the digital PDF. The digital book alone is $15. Need it sooner? Rush shipping is +$29.99. The price you see is the price you pay, with no surprise fees at checkout.
Will it arrive before Hanukkah?
Yes, if you order in time. Free Ground shipping within the US: order by Sun, Nov 15. Rush (+$29.99): order by Fri, Nov 20. Your hardcover is printed in about 4 business days (3 with Rush), then shipped. Our printer is closed Nov 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving. Every printed book also includes the digital edition right away.
Is my book checked before printing?
Yes. Every page is checked against your choices before it's printed, and any page that doesn’t match is looked at by a person. If anything isn't right with your book or its delivery, email us and we'll take care of you.
Can I change my order?
Spotted a typo in a name? Email us as soon as you can at hello@myhanukkahbook.com. If your book hasn't gone to the printer yet, we'll fix the name or spelling for you. We can't switch stories or reading levels after payment, and once a book is printing we can't change it.
Can I return my book?
If anything isn't right with your book or its delivery, email us and we'll take care of you.
Where do you ship?
Printed books currently ship within the United States, and Ground shipping is always free.
